In case you didn't hear, it seems that Pope Benedict and Cardinal Arinze have tag-teamed to make sure that in the next edition of the English translation of the Missal, the phrase pro vobis et pro multis will be translated "for you and for many" instead of the current formulation "for all." This is a good thing, by the way, if you haven't been following this issue.
I have, of course, defended the validity of Masses said with the "for all" formulation in this space (that is, in Catholicae Testudines), but that does not mean that I thought it was the optimum translation of the Latin, just sufficient for validity. Neither have the recent popes, but Pope Benedict has taken the initiative to fix this. I have tried to avoid carping about translation on the blog, but if you know Latin you understand where I'm coming from; now I have something to post on that I'm happy and thankful for, translation-wise.
In case you are one of those people who find this disconcerting, 1.) this is what it says in the Bible. Look how the NAB translates that phrase, and 2.) make sure to read Cardinal Arinze's letter to the bishops on this.
In fact, you probably want to read it anyway so that you are more informed.
