I saw in this article that someone is starting a Wikipedia alternative/supplement called "Conservapedia" because they think Wikipedia is "too liberal." Unfortunately (according to the [quite-left] Spiegel, I haven't checked myself) it (along with the similar CreationWiki), it is basically a project to promulgate American Protestant-fundamentalist style Creationism.
So anyway, the idea of religion-themed wiki online encyclopedias got me thinking. What if there was something like the good old Catholic Encyclopedia, but wiki-type instead? Instead of a static historical reference tome (with dated material, in a dated style that many people today find un-user friendly), a constantly updated pool of what people know. I don't know if it would be workable, but I bet it'd be pretty neat if it were.

I'm skeptical as to how well it would work on account of the vast quantity of clueless Catholics who think they know for one reason or other.
