I've always wondered if the administration here at Our Lady's University agreed with such a statement. There seems to be very little interest in such a cause for some reason. For instance, the Center for Social Concerns web page identifies thier justice concerns as follows:
The Center's justice education range of events, initiatives, and issues have included farmworkers and workers rights, fair trade coffee, anti-death penalty, globalization, children's rights, international conflicts, racism, domestic and international poverty, AIDS/HIV, advocacy, human rights, and hunger. The Center looks forward to deepening our education for justice by expanding events and opportunities for inter-religious dialogue and peacebuilding.
There may well be a reason for this, as perhaps nearly all ND students are prolife anyway, or some such, but that's not quite consistent with my expirences. It sure would be nice if I better understood why ND's cheif social concerns don't appear to be the same as the Holy Father's.
