You know when you know two things, but they haven't connected in your mind until someone points it out?
In the OT, they didn't crown kings, they anointed them. "The King of the Jews" (cf. INRI) and "Messiah" (and "Christ") are basically interchangeable. Pay attention to this in the Gospel.
