The other day I posted about neat it is to absorb the details about stories you love, like all the details I had absorbed of Star Wars. I started thinking about this because I ran across a set of cards from a Bible quiz game. Since some of my friends said it would be amusing if I posted some of the questions, maybe I will. If this is too nerdy for you, there are other posts to read. Like I said, it's not like you're a bad Christian if you don't know the answers to these. But maybe it's neat to know (I love quiz game shows - Jeopardy is perhaps my favorite show).
They run the gamut from reasonable questions to really small details that almost nobody could be expected to know who doesn't go out of his way to collect obscure facts. If anything I'm actually a bit embarrassed at how few I know. Some cards I get almost all of them, but others I get only one or two. Maybe I'll post some questions, how many I got right, and the answers. Here's the first installment.
OT: From what did God make man?
HG: Who built the city of Enoch?
P: What book contains the first prophecy that the Jews would be scattered over the face of the earth?
N: Who adopted Moses?
LNS: How long was Moses on the mountain receiving the Ten Commandments the first time?
NT: Whom did King Herod call to ascertain the time that the star of Bethlehem appeared?
W: What does Jesus say belongs to the poor in spirit?
Answers in the extended post
Ha! Good card for me - I got six, and I was close on the seventh.
Answers:
OT: Dust (Gen 2:7) [I would also accept clay, mud, etc.]
HG: Cain (Gen 4:9)
P: Deuteronomy (Deut 28)
N: Pharaoh's daughter (Ex 2:10)
LNS: Forty days and forty nights (Ex 19)
NT: The Magi (Matt 2:7)
W: The kingdom of Heaven (Matt 5:3)
P.S. The headins OT, HG, etc. stand for categories that I don't exactly know since I only have the cards and not the whole game. You can guess what they stand for.

One of my life's ambitions is to be on Jeopardy!
(And I only got four.)

Did you ever find out the name of this trivia game? I too am looking for these cards. I found a few in the trash can and have been trying to find the name of the game and more cards.
