A quick thought on the recent Drudge Headline: "Fatties Cause Global Warming."
How do we know it's the fatties causing the problem?
What if its all the skinnies with insanely high metabolism?
A quick thought on Miss California.
I have absolutely no interest in beauty pageants...other than the typical puerile ones.
Now, I have no idea what kind of person Miss California is morally. It's not my business to judge her soul. I will give her kudos for sticking up for marriage, though.
What does it gain a woman to win Miss USA and lose her soul?
Of course, I think some of this has been overplayed. She did start her statement with a concession that it is great to live in a country where people are being allowed to make these choices, even if she doesn't think they should be.
Part of me actually hopes she lost the pageant on account of her beliefs -- her reward will be greater than a tiara (and by reward I don't merely mean a favorable mention on this blog...as covetous a prize as that is).
Another thought on this issue is that it now means we can use her to stick it to public leaders who won't take a stand on these kinds of issues. If I were one of the squirrely, noncommital bishops, it would seem quite shameful to me to be getting shown up by a Miss California (although it does seem like more and more bishops are fighting the good fight).
