I know I did a piece on movies entitled "The Unborn," but I can't remember if I covered the movie called "Pro-Life."
From the IMDB...
Pro-Life, directed by John Carpenter, written by Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan, tells the story of a young girl trapped inside a clinic, who discovers the only thing more dangerous than her pursuers is the demonic secret that she carries within her. Ron Perlman, Mark Feuerstein, Emannuelle Vaugiere and Caitlin Wachs star.
Perhaps the greatest irony is how, despite its menacing claws, the baby on the box art actually looks less evil than the usually creepy ultrasound image.
I saw the DVD in a used bin at Suncoast the other day, and thought it worth mentioning to those who would be rightfully peeved. But, who knows, maybe the movie has a really good message at the end. After all, she's "trapped" inside the clinic (assumably against her will), and it's not entirely clear whether her "dangerous...pursuers" are her religiously fanatical father or the abortionists. And why should we be so afraid of a devil-baby? Haven't any of these people read Hellboy?
Of course, I'm not exactly planning on renting the movie to find out...
