Ain't It Cool News...a cool geek culture website whose grammatical syntax I often find very difficult to parse...has a blog post on The Vatican Tapes.
It looks like this is supposed to be some kind of Blair Witch Project meets Paranormal Activity meets Dan Brown. The premise seems to be that the film pretends to be leaked footage of a botched exorcism (because, you know, exorcists video tape these things all the time so they can watch highlight reels later).

A seminarian I know once told me that in his Sacrament of Confession practicum class the professor showed clips from movies that had priests hearing confessions. He said that almost all of them were examples of what a priest hearing confessions should not do.
So perhaps it's farfetched but not inconceivable that an exorcist somewhere might use movies this way when training new exorcists, and this movie might be so used. At least I find this thought amusing.

Your comment reminds me of the Bugs Bunny cartoon where he's in a wrestling ring and beats up his opponent by demonstrating all of the illegal moves...on his opponent...
