The NY Daily News found it newsworthy that Archbishop Dolan defended the pope against the hyperbolic news media.
My favorite line in the article is:
The standing-room-only crowd applauded Dolan for calling the Holy
Father a "leader in purification, reform and renewal that the church so
very much needs."
Of course, the article had to end with:
Earlier, a small group of protesters had gathered outside St. Patrick's to denounce the pontiff.
Even so, this was the least damning depiction of the Church's response to the scandals that I've read so far.
