Of course, in real life, the kids brutalized people who had homes and jobs...

This, sadly, has happened here as well. The homeless were given protection under the state's hate crimes statute last year (making MD the first of any state to do so). Crimes against them total more than crimes committed against all the other protected classes in the state's hate crimes statute combined.
